Overall, there are 8 main stages in the whole ethanol making process, beginning with the collection of corn and concluding with storing and utilizing fuel at gas stations.

The process commences with corns being harvested from the field. Following this, corn is stored in warehouses before going through the milling process. In the subsequent stage, the corn is ground into powder, then it is mixed with water in order to be ready for cooking. After being cooked for 4 hours, the mixture is fermented in a special equipment for two days.

After this stage is complete, the output is separated into solid by-products and liquid ethanol. However, the liquid at this stage needs to go through the purification process so as to be ready for consumption. This stage takes five hours to filter out impurities. The final stage of the process is storing ethanol and delivering it to gas stations for retailing purposes.
